Fans....as you may already know, one of our favorite places to perform Jelly's is in danger of losing its license due to a tragic incident that we believe is not only giving Jelly's a bad image, but unjustly placing blame on Jelly's ownership. The salsa scene is already down to its last few lasting venues.

Jellys has been the Sunday spot for salsa and we need your support to keep Jelly's open.  The City of San Francisco has been targeting Jelly's ever since the Giants ballpark broke ground.  Over the years, incidents like these though unfortunate, have occurred in all night club venues throughout the bay area.  The difference is that Jelly's is prime real estate and the City wants it.  In our 15 years of performing, outside of a couple of scuffles and overzealous alcoholics ;Jelly's security and patrons have always been able to keep it peaceful.  If you were to list in comparison other nite clubs and violent incidents in San Francisco (looked for stats, but there are none) I'm pretty sure Jelly's isn't in the top 10.  Lets remember a Giants fan was beaten to death outside the park after a Giants game a couple of years ago.   Did the City reprimand the Giants? No...reason being is that you can't control the stupidity and ignorance of people outside your door.  This incident occurred after a private party outside the venue.  No matter what... TRUE patrons of this venue know the truth....truth is Jelly's has always been a staple of great food, great live music, good vibes, and an early relaxing escape before returning to your work week.
They are reviewing the situation at a meeting on Tuesday, July 27th at 6:30PM Room 400 at City Hall.
We need to get as many people as possible to attend.
If you can't attend, please write or call on our behalf (and forward to everyone you can), to: Jocelyn Kane, Acting Exec.
Director San Francisco Entertainment Commission City Hall, Room

Needless to say, if this can't be resolved it will affect the livelihood of many and will also affect the future of live music in the Bay Area. We thank you for your support.
